Straight answers about how Pigeon works in practice.

Getting started

Pigeon is an email marketing application for newsletters and campaigns. You connect your own sending domain, build emails in a visual block editor, manage lists and segments, and track opens and clicks. Sending runs on managed email infrastructure tuned for reliable delivery.

After you register and verify your email, onboarding walks you through creating a project and choosing a plan. Each project has its own lists, campaigns, domains, and analytics — useful if you run more than one brand.

Yes — Pigeon is designed for domain-based sending. You add a domain, publish the DNS records we provide (including SPF and DKIM), and verify it. That keeps your brand on the "From" address and helps deliverability.

You can add subscribers manually or import CSV files into a list. Make sure everyone has opted in; Pigeon is built for permission-based marketing, and healthy lists protect your domain reputation.

Pricing & billing

Subscriptions are billed in EUR through our payment provider (Paddle). Plans scale with the number of subscribers your project is allowed to hold. You can upgrade or downgrade as your audience changes.

Yes — you can use Pigeon free for up to 500 subscribers. Paid plans apply when you need a higher subscriber limit. Limits shown in onboarding and billing are the source of truth for your account.

You can stop renewing your subscription according to the terms at checkout. Access to paid features typically continues until the end of the current billing period. Export anything you need before closing an account.

No — Pigeon emphasizes unlimited sends on paid plans (subject to fair use and provider limits). What scales with price is primarily subscriber capacity, not each individual message.

Email delivery

Pigeon uses enterprise-grade email delivery behind the scenes. You verify your domain and add the DNS records we provide; we handle throughput, authentication alignment, and operational scaling so you do not run mail servers yourself.

Each subscriber has an unsubscribe link and List-Unsubscribe headers where applicable. One-click unsubscribe is supported. Suppressed contacts are blocked from future sends so you stay compliant and protect reputation.

Hard bounces and complaints automatically suppress addresses. You can review suppression reasons in the app so you understand what happened and keep your list clean.

Yes. Campaign analytics include open and click tracking, engagement over time, and domain-level breakdowns. Use these signals to improve content — and remember some clients block images, so opens are directional, not perfect.

Technical

For each sending domain, Pigeon shows the records you need — typically DKIM tokens, SPF alignment, and sometimes custom MAIL FROM configuration. Copy them into your DNS host and run verification from the domain setup wizard.

Yes. Our delivery providers can notify Pigeon about bounces and complaints through configured endpoints so suppressions stay accurate without manual imports.
