Introducing Pigeon: Email Marketing Built for Small Businesses

April 10, 2026 · 7 min read

Pigeon did not begin in a conference room. It began in 2026 with a familiar frustration: someone we love runs a small business and needed a simple way to send newsletters. The big platforms worked, but their pricing felt out of step with the scale of a local shop — paying enterprise-sized subscriptions for what should be a straightforward tool. That did not sit right. So we built Pigeon: email marketing that respects small and medium businesses, their budgets, and their time.

Today Pigeon is not a prototype on a shelf. It has real paying customers who send real campaigns, track real engagement, and grow real audiences. That matters to us more than any feature checklist, because software should earn its place by helping people communicate reliably — not by locking them into complexity they never asked for.

Why we built it

Newsletters are one of the few channels you actually own. Social algorithms change overnight; inboxes are crowded but still personal. We wanted a tool that made it practical to send from your own domain, keep lists organized, and understand what resonated — without turning every send into a technical project. Dependable delivery runs on managed infrastructure behind the scenes, while Pigeon focuses on the workflows owners use every week: lists, segments, templates, campaigns, and clear analytics.

What Pigeon does today

You can connect and verify sending domains, build emails in a visual block-based editor, and manage subscribers with tags and segments. Automation lets you welcome new subscribers with a timed flow. When you send, Pigeon tracks opens and clicks so you can see what worked — alongside bounce and complaint signals that help you keep your list healthy. Unsubscribe handling is built in, because compliance and kindness should be defaults, not add-ons.

Whether you are announcing a new product line, sharing a monthly story, or nurturing repeat customers, the goal is the same: show up consistently, measure honestly, and improve over time.

Who it is for

Pigeon is aimed at small and medium businesses — retailers, creatives, agencies, local services, and anyone who outgrew “BCC everyone from Gmail” but does not want to navigate enterprise marketing suites. If you value owning your domain reputation, understanding basic campaign performance, and keeping tooling simple, you are the kind of user we had in mind from day one.

What is coming next

We are continuing to deepen analytics, refine the builder, and listen to customers about what slows them down. Roadmap priorities follow real usage: better visibility into delivery health, smoother collaboration inside teams, and the small quality-of-life improvements that make weekly sending feel lighter. If you have a request, we read every thoughtful message — especially from people who depend on email to keep their business humming.

Thank you for being here at the beginning. Pigeon exists because small businesses deserve tools that fit — and we are just getting started.
